Went to Xipu Campus, SWJTU

We, Ms YANG, Ms LIU, Mr JIN and I, went to Xipu(犀浦) Campus, SWJTU(西南交通大学) by bike at yesterday afternoon. We took 50 minutes to going, and went back about 40 minutes.

The weather is not good, it is couldy. We took pictures in the beautiful campus. The left is took in front of the rainbow bridge(彩虹桥).

Xipu Campus has been built from 2003. In Sept. 2004, The sophomores in Jiuli(九里) Campus moved to Xipu. They would finish their school work there. The new undergraduate students would go to Xipu for their college life. But only the undergraduate students majoring Architecture and arts, the master students and PhD students, and other students leave in Jiuli.

Xipu Campus is larger than Jiuli.

QQ2005 Released

QQ, A China local instant messenger, its newest version, QQ2005, was released at today afternoon in Beijing. Its English version is QQ2004II. It has about 77% users of all IMs in China.

I have used QQ for about 6 years. I think that it is very adaptive for Chinese. But in the past years, it became larger and larger, so the computer was very slow if we used QQ's old version. I used the QQ2005, I think it is fast than before, and smaller. I like it, the cute QQ.

Tencent, which develops QQ, its CEO--- MA Huateng, graduated from Shenzhen University in 1994, majored in computer science.

Orkut

Yesterday, I got an invitation to join orkut.com.

There are many Brazilian, saying in Portuguese. I think it's time to learn Portuguese?

Chinese communities is not hot. I hope more and more Chinese people join orkut.com.

On Recreance

Our "People's Writer", Ba Jin, was dead. He left us much much thinking. We always say somebody is recreant, but we never see ourselves characteristics. Ba Jin was the man, who was brave to say truth, to admit his mistake. So he was brave, not recreant.

They are ignominious, who criticizes somebody all the day but never criticezes themselves.

Notable Writer Ba Jin Died at Age 101

BA Jin(巴金), one of the most revered writers, died of cancer in Shanghai on Monday after a six-year battle with malignant mesothelium cell tumor and other diseases.
Ba is one of the most revered Chinese authors of the 20th century, standing in the ranks of Lu Xun(鲁迅), Mao Dun(茅盾) and Guo Moruo(郭沫若).

Chinese Astronauts Land

On Oct. 12, People were very exciting at everywhere of China because that China's piloted spacecraft, the Shenzhou VI, blasted off  at 9 a.m. from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, beginning a 5-day mission orbiting the earth.

 

Today moring, Oct. 17, it returned safely. The flight in Oct. 2003 made China the 3rd country to put an astronaut into space, after the former Soviet Union and the United States.

Understand a little of Tensor

Six days of Prime week of national day have pasted. I understand a little of Tensor. I have read the book for several times.

Two Weddings

Prime week of National Day (October 1), I have been at Xichang. I attended two weddings. One was XQ SHEN and YX HE's at Qionghai Hotel(邛海宾馆) on Oct. 2, and another was YL LIU and GC ZHANG's at Sea Scene Club(海景俱乐部) on Oct. 5. I wishes them both a lifetime of happiness.

Somebody Disagreeing with Wang Yin

Some days ago, Wang Yin(王垠) wrote a blog on his MSN space, who said he would want to give up his PhD degree at Tsinghua because of Chinese educational system. Several days after that, there were some people build a blog on MSN space, named "清华梦依然在". several scholars/students posted some blogs with their experiences at Tsinghua, who would stick up for the report of Tsinghua, but they never used their true names!
